Who we are

The Learning and Development Centre (LDC) supports the transformation of the primary care workforce through quality training and education, aiming to improve the health and wellbeing for the population of Devon. The Learning and Development Centre works across organisational boundaries with other training organisations and providers, developing sustainable models of training with which to equip the future workforce. The Learning and Development Centre aims to respond to the needs of the workforce,  enabling professionals to deliver exceptional patient or customer care. All training and education is evaluated to ensure excellent quality assurance, and relevant to the needs of the workforce.

The core functions of the LCD are:

  • Responding to local workforce needs through the provision of education
  • Co-ordination of education programmes
  • Education quality

Sentinel Healthcare acts as the data controller for Learning and Development Centre for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 and EU General Data Protection Regulation. This means that Sentinel Healthcare is responsible for, and controls the processing of, personal data.

How Learning and Development Centre collects information about you

Everything that we do, we do to ensure we help members and non-members. The aim of Learning and Development Centre is to support the delivery of a workforce capable of meeting the needs of a local population’s health and improve clinical outcomes. We ensure that training, education, development and workforce strategy is identified and provided locally, by local practitioners.
